Pediatric Feeding Therapy

Feeding Therapy Services by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist can support the following feeding concerns:

  • Food range of fever than 20 foods

  • Picky eating/limited diet

  • Avoidance of a particular texture or food group

  • Gagging, coughing or choking during mealtimes

  • Stressful mealtimes

  • Oral motor concerns

  • Swallowing and chewing difficulties

  • Difficulty drinking from an open cup or straw cup

  • Meals exceed 30 minutes

  • Your child often becomes upset during meals

  • Your child often pushes away food


Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is a specialized therapy that helps improve the function and coordination of the muscles in the face, mouth, and throat. It supports better breathing, swallowing, tongue posture, and oral habits.

OMT can help children and adults with:

  • Speech sound disorders

  • Tongue thrust or improper tongue posture

  • Thumb-sucking or prolonged pacifier use

  • Mouth breathing and sleep-disordered breathing (e.g., sleep apnea)

  • Tongue ties and post-tongue-tie release therapy

  • Orthodontic concerns (overbites, open bites, etc.)

  • Difficulty chewing or swallowing

OMT works to help with :

  • Strengthens and retrains oral and facial muscles

  • Encourages nasal breathing for better health

  • Supports clearer speech and more efficient swallowing

  • Helps prevent dental and orthodontic issues

  • Improves overall oral function and posture
